Automotive A/C Service
A/C Repair & Service
Stay cool all summer. We service both R134a and R1234yf systems — recharges, repairs, and full replacements.
R134a
Vehicles manufactured before 2015
R1234yf
Most vehicles manufactured after 2015
Full-Service Automotive A/C Specialists
NCC Muffler & Brakes is equipped with both R134a and R1234yf refrigerant recovery and recharge machines, meaning we can service virtually any vehicle on the road today — including newer models that require the newer R1234yf refrigerant that many shops aren't equipped to handle.
Whether your A/C just needs a recharge, has a leak that needs to be found and repaired, or the compressor has failed and you need a full system replacement, we have the tools and experience to get your A/C blowing cold again.
R134a & R1234yf — We Handle Both
The standard refrigerant used in most vehicles manufactured before 2015. We have a dedicated R134a recovery and recharge machine for complete service on older vehicles.
The newer, more environmentally friendly refrigerant required in most vehicles manufactured after 2015. Our R1234yf machine allows us to service late-model vehicles that many shops turn away.
Our A/C Services
A/C System Inspection
We check pressures, inspect all components, and identify any leaks or failures before recommending repairs. No guesswork — just accurate diagnosis.
Refrigerant Recharge
If your system is low on refrigerant, we recover the old refrigerant, check for leaks, and recharge the system to factory specifications.
Leak Detection & Repair
Using UV dye and electronic leak detectors, we locate refrigerant leaks in hoses, fittings, the evaporator, condenser, or compressor and repair them properly.
Compressor Replacement
A failed compressor means no cold air. We replace A/C compressors and flush the system to remove any debris before recharging.
Condenser Replacement
The condenser sits in front of the radiator and is vulnerable to road debris damage. We replace damaged condensers and recharge the system.
Evaporator Service
A leaking or clogged evaporator causes poor cooling and musty odors. We service and replace evaporators when needed.
Expansion Valve & Orifice Tube
These components regulate refrigerant flow. A failed valve or tube causes poor cooling performance and can damage the compressor.
Full System Replacement
When multiple components have failed or the system is beyond repair, we can replace the entire A/C system and get you back to factory-level cooling performance.
Signs Your A/C Needs Service
A/C blows warm or only slightly cool air
Weak airflow even on the highest fan setting
Musty or unusual odor when A/C is running
Clicking or grinding noise when A/C is turned on
A/C works intermittently or takes a long time to cool down
Visible refrigerant oil stains near A/C components
